Prof. Igor Pantić is an Associate Professor of Medical Physiology and a Principal Research Fellow of Molecular Medicine. He is an interdisciplinary researcher recognized among the top 2% of the most influential scientists worldwide by Stanford University in 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. Prof. Pantić is currently employed at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Medicine, where he serves in the Department of Medical Physiology and leads the Laboratory for Cellular Physiology. Since 2017, he has also maintained a long-standing affiliation as an Affiliated Professor at the University of Haifa, Israel.
In addition to his primary academic appointments, Prof. Pantić previously served as an Adjunct Clinical Professor at Khalifa University of Science and Technology, College of Medicine and Health Sciences (2022–2024), and as a Visiting Associate Professor at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Faculty of Health Sciences (2022–2025). He also contributed to the work of the European Commission as an independent expert evaluator contracted by the European Research Executive Agency. In this capacity, he has been engaged in the scientific evaluation of research proposals submitted under Horizon Europe health call, including the preparation of individual evaluation reports, participation in virtual and central evaluation meetings, and attendance at on-site evaluation meetings in Brussels.
Research activity of Dr. Pantić is centered on medical physiology, molecular medicine, neuroscience, and computational and data-driven approaches in biomedicine, with particular emphasis on medical data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence applications. He has authored a substantial body of peer-reviewed publications in high-impact international journals and is actively involved in international research collaboration, including sustained scientific cooperation with academic and research institutions in Poland, as well as doctoral supervision, editorial service, and participation in research policy and accreditation processes.
